Galaxy S5 Review

Samsung has announced the launch of its new flagship smartphone, Galaxy S5, for the Indian market. The phone will be priced between Rs 51,000 and Rs 53,000, with the exact price to be revealed later, said Samsung. It will be available in India starting from April 11. The phone, the company claims, combines an advanced camera, the fast network connectivity, dedicated fitness tools and device protection features.
Its new Selective Focus feature allows users to focus on a specific area of an object while simultaneously blurring out the background. The phone is equipped with a 16 megapixel camera.
The S5 has a fingerprint scanner on the home button, which can be used to protect data and provide security credentials in a swipe.
The Galaxy S5 is resistant to sweat, rain, liquids, sand and dust. Its Ultra Power Saving Mode turns the display to black and white, and shuts down all unnecessary features to minimise the battery consumption.
The Galaxy S5 is claimed to offer the world's fastest autofocus speed. Its faster autofocus is said to allow you to take pictures of movement and action in focus so that they no longer have to miss any important moments.
Galaxy S5 is the first smart phone with a built-in Heart Rate Sensor which enables you to measure your heart rate directly on your phone. You can now check your heart rate at any time of the day and manage your condition accordingly, said Samsung.
According to Samsung, the Download Booster technology lets users use the LTE and WiFi simultaneously, giving them an unrivaled network experience. When you need to download files in a hurry, turn on the LTE and Wi-Fi together and experience approximately 80-90 per cent of the added network speed of LTE and WiFi. The company has not launched the LTE variant in India.
The Galaxy S5, successor to the Galaxy S4, features a perforated pattern on the back cover. It comes in four colours - charcoal Black, shimmery White, electric Blue and copper Gold.

It runs the latest Android OS - Android 4.4.2 KitKat.It has a 5.1" FHD Super AMOLED  and is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core application processor.
